GOOD WORK ETHICS AND SECRETARIAL JOB PERFORMANCE

 

ABSTRACT

Many modern organizations are today faced with numerous challenges such as illegal and unethical business practices in a number of business transactions. Most organizations have come up with codes of ethics in dealing with ethical issues challenging them. Code of ethics is the set of moral principles used by an organization to steer the conduct of the organization, and secretaries in all their business activities both internally and externally

This work discusses good work ethics and secretarial job performance. A hundred and twenty questionnaires were distributed among secretaries and managers from selected business organizations. Interviews and surveys were also conducted.

 

Primary and secondary data will be used in the analysis. Tables and percentages will also be used as the instrument of analysis

 

Findings revealed that ethical behaviour has effects on the performance of secretaries and that good ethical behaviour has a positive correlation with organizational performance. Suitable policy recommendations were offered which decision makers in business organizations and government functionaries will find highly useful

It will be observed therefore that good work ethics have a strong and significant impact on secretarial job performance.
